Halfway!

| Visible states are the ones I have visited |
When: ~8 months
Miles traveled: 17,213
Price of gas: $2.84 to 5.39
Interest: Traveling
High point: Utah
Low
point: Losing confidence in the availability of public bathrooms.
Some of the challenges I have encountered: State highways don't always have rest stops. Gas stations sometimes
only have employee bathrooms. Fast food restaurants might have drive-thru
service only. Grocery stores might require customers to ask for the
location of their seemly hidden bathrooms and some require a number code
to unlock. While an overgrown side of the road is always available, I like flush toilets. I bet you do too.
One thing learned: I need to travel slower, perhaps two weeks in each state rather than my typical one week. This will help my sanity and lessen travel burnout.
Note: This is my last
post till October. In August and September, I will be attending two
weddings and exploring Alaska! I don't think I'll have time to write
during these months, and finding a library to use their internet will
also be harder. Till then! -Rebecca

Car's bumper is getting crowded! A few states are represented by magnets and are not seen in this photo. |
